Wilma Burge

July 3, 1937 — March 3, 2021

On March 3, 2021 we lost our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Wilma Adeline Beeson Burge, who was born July 3, 1937 in Magnolia, Mississippi and died in Bellevue, WA. It was a sad day for many, but a wonderful homecoming to be with her Lord and Savior, who she loved with her whole heart, soul, mind, and strength. She lived in Vidor for almost 60 years and played piano for the Vidor Church of the Nazarene for over 50 yrs. She also served on the church board for over 45 yrs, was church secretary for over 30 years, and having a heart for missions, was missionary president for 30 yrs. She worked for 27 years at American Healthfood Store in Beaumont, ultimately becoming the store manager. She had many talents including music, arts, crafts, ceramics, and she even taught oil painting in Vidor privately for a number of years. For over 30 years she loved doing genealogy and especially enjoyed card making and crocheting in the last years of her life. Everything that she did in arts and crafts, including her amazing cards, were done beautifully and she was a total perfectionist. Wilma had in recent years moved to Oldtown, Idaho to be with her daughters. She is survived by her daughters, Judy Burge Hare of Oldtown, Idaho, and Linda Susan Burge, of Sandpoint, Idaho, her beloved granddaughter, Karen Diana Parisot, of Portales, New Mexico, her adored four great-grandchildren, Madeline, Nathaniel, and Luna Parisot of Spokane, Washington, and Zöe Boughan of Melrose, New Mexico, sister, Addie Mae Herman of Richmond, Texas, and several nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 53 years, Robert “Bob” Franklin Burge, Sr, son, Robert Franklin Burge, Jr, and great grandson, Oliver Duane Parisot, mother, Jessie Rosene Beeson, father, Claude Beeson, two sisters, Marie Simmons and Ruby Wesolowski, and one brother, Claude L. Beeson. The funeral will be at Vidor Memorial Funeral home at 2 pm with viewing from 1 to 2 pm followed by graveside services at the Burge cemetery in Vidor. Come and rejoice in the celebration of Wilma’s life.
