Willis R. Peno, 88, of Vidor died Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at Oakwood Manor Nursing Home in Vidor. Willis is a native and lifelong resident of Vidor. He was a retired Warehouse Supervisor with Mobil Oil in Beaumont and a member of First United Methodist Church in Vidor. Willis was a member of the Optimist Club in Vidor and was involved in raising funds and building the Little League Park on Hwy 90. Willis served his country in the U.S. Army during WW II. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 23, 2007 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Stephenson Cemetery in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, February 22, 2007 at Memorial Funeral Home. Willis is preceded in death by his wife Ethel Peno and son David Peno. He is survived by his sons Willis “ Bubba” Peno, Jr and his wife Janet and Kenneth Peno both of Vidor, TX, daughter Linda Frederick and her husband Joe of Vidor, TX, brother Billy Peno and sister Latta Rearick both of Vidor, TX, 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
