Willie "Maw Maw" Merle Brister, 99, of Vidor died Tuesday, August 17th, 2021 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont, TX. She was a longtime resident of Vidor and grew up in Sour Lake, Willie was a member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church and a retired Cafeteria Worker for VISD for 30 years. She loved flowers and tending to her garden, as well as hunting. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. There will be a visitation Monday, August 23rd, 2021 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor and a funeral service Tuesday August 24th, 2021 beginning at 10 AM also at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Interment will take place at Restlawn Memorial Park. Willie is survived by her daughter Pricilla Stephenson and husband Derek of Vidor, her son L.C. Brister Jr. and his wife Cherry of Vidor, TX, her sister Elvia L. Witt of Houston, TX, her grandchildren, Richard and Edward Brister, Rhonda Powell, Ronnie Goodman and Chelsea Gibson, and her great grandchildren, Saren Smith, Ryles and Carter Powell, Erran Adams, Gwyneth and Jake Cobb, Traylin and Kristly Kyzar, Rosealie and Elena Gibson, Laura Godfrey, Sabrina Cockerham, and Nikki, Kimberly, Kevin, and Lisa Bradshaw, as well as one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband L.C. Brister Sr, her daughter Linda Marie Crabtree, her granddaughter Christy Goodman, and her brothers Floyd, Raymond, Donald and LeRoy Warren.
