Willie Etta 'Sis' Skiles

Willie Etta Skiles, known to her children and grandchildren as Momma and Maw-Maw was affectionately known as “Sis” to Everyone. Sis went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont, Texas while surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She was 92. Sis was born in Yantis, Texas on October 24, 1919. She move to Vidor, Texas with her husband and children in 1956 where she has lived for the past 56 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Skiles. Her Parents, Thomas and Maybelle Holland; brothers: Edward Holland, OJ Holland, Noble Hollard, Floyd Holland and Truman Holland and sister: O'Dell Day; Two son-in-laws and three grandchildren and one great grandchild. She is survived by: Two sisters, O'Delia Ritchie of Reedley, CA and Rita Walker of Booneville, AK and One brother, Carl Holland of Sanger, CA. Seven children: JD Skiles and wife Syble; Jerry Skiles, and wife Allene and Maxine Corbello, all from Vidor, Texas. Shirley Steeley and husband, Raymond from Village Mills, Texas; Norma Harvey from Sour Lake, Texas; Ruby Venable and husband, Jimmy Venable of Silsbee, Texas and James J Skiles and wife, Jackie of Jasper, Texas. She has 21 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren and 15 great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
