William John Carlisle Jr., 96, of Vidor, passed away on Thursday, October 17th, 2024, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. Born in Scotland, William moved to the United States at the age of four and became a longtime resident of Vidor. He proudly served his country with the U.S. Army during World War II and later transferred to the U.S. Naval Reserve after the war. John built a career at Bethlehem Steel, dedicating over 30 years to the company before retiring.
A lover of books, John was an avid reader who appreciated the simple joys in life, valuing time with loved ones and enjoying peaceful moments.
John is survived by his children: Carolyn Worthington and her husband David of Groves, TX, Hilman Ingalls and his wife Kay of Crosby, TX, and Alice Rhodes of Port Neches, TX. He is also survived by his brother Ken Carlisle and his wife Mary of Beaumont, TX, 7 grandchildren: Renee, Chad, Curtis, Derek, Deven, James, and Austin, 10 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Myrtle Carlisle, and his sons FJ Ingalls and Steven Ingalls. John’s legacy of love and service will be cherished by all who knew him.
