William Allen 'Buck' Whitmire Sr.

Buck Whitmire, 87, of Vidor died Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Beaumont, TX, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Buck was a member of Local Union #195 and served his country in the US Navy during WWII. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, January 19, 2014 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow Monday, January 20, 2014 at Houston National Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 6:00 pm Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Memorial Funeral Home. Buck is survived by his wife Gloria Whitmire of Vidor, TX, sons Steve Whitmire of Fremont, MN, Harold Roy Whitmire of Vidor, TX, John Whitmire of Vidor, TX, David Whitmire of Mauriceville, TX, daughter Donna Placker of Malvern, AR, Samantha Marcinnoni of Hisperia, CA, Christina Mullane of Cortez, CO, Eva Crisman of Beaumont, TX, sister Margie Farley of Vidor, TX, 22 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death William Allen 'Billy' Whitmire Jr.
