Voorhees D. "Buddy" Bridges, Jr.

Voorhees D. "Buddy" Bridges Jr. 76, of Vidor, TX died Monday, October 22nd, 2018 at his home. A native of Tyler, TX he was a longtime resident of Vidor and a member of Eastgate United Pentecostal Church. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force and loved working on projects with his hands. Buddy was known to be very organized, especially his garage. Also, he loved to spoil his dog Stella. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 26, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Eastgate United Pentecostal Church. Buddy is survived by his loving wife of 22 years; LaGail Bridges, 2 sons; Mike S. Bridges of Beaumont, TX and Tim J. Bridges of Lake Charles, LA, 2 daughters; Kim Smith and her husband Robert of Beaumont, and Donna Hager and her husband Kevin of Orangefield, TX, 7 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. He is also survived by 2 sisters; Shirley Bulgherini and Becky Steele and her husband Jack, 2 brothers; Bill Bridges and his wife Audrey and James Bridges and his wife Cathy, and his best friend for 30 years; Brooks Sterling. He was preceded in death by his parents; Voorhees, Sr. and Ollie Mae Bridges. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Lavoyd King for always making sure Buddy looked good and to David McCoy for watching over Buddy's dog Stella. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor.
