Vernon Royce Morgan, Sr.

Vernon R. Morgan, Sr., 84, of Vidor died Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont, Texas. A native of Beaumont, he has lived in Vidor since 1955, and was a retired iron worker with Local #125. Vernon served his country in the United States Army. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 30, 2009 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2009 at Memorial Funeral Home. Vernon was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Lila Mae Morgan, and his daughter Donna Gay Humphrey. He is survived by his sons Vernon R. Morgan, Jr., and Randy S. Morgan both of Vidor, daughter Sandy Carr of Vidor, brother Donald Morgan of Beaumont, sisters Daisy Morgan of MS., Bessie Wardwell, and Doris Robinson both of Vidor, and Janet Mazzola of Beaumont, seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
