Vera Mae Wood

Vera M. Wood, 76, of Vidor died Sunday January 8, 2005 at Orange Villa Nursing Home in Orange, TX. A native of Craven, LA., she has lived in Vidor since 1980, and was a Homemaker. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 11, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, January 10, 2005 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. She is survived by her sons, Michael Edward Wood, Paul Jeffery Wood, and step-son, Larry Wood all of Vidor, daughters, Gloria Strother of Houston, TX., Betty Perry of Crowley, LA., Kathy Long of Vidor, and Jo Ann McReynolds of Vidor, and step-daughter, Patsy Hetzel of Vidor, fourteen grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren. Vera was preceded in death by her parents, William Rosetta Johnson, husbands, Dennis Andrew Wood, and Dewey Edward Wood, son, Leroy Wood, step-sons Bobby Wood, and Thomas Wood, daughters, Dewey Mae Wood, and Margie Lee Wood, brothers, Alfred Johnson, and Allie Johnson, sister, Wena Marie Wood, and granddaughter, Kristina Cagle. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 2909 W. Holcombe Blvd., Houston, TX. 77025-9992.
