Vann “Rambo” Byron Roson, a proud veteran and lifelong adventurer, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Vidor Health and Rehab. A native of Dallas, TX, Vann was a longtime resident of the Dallas area before making Vidor his home.
Vann served his country with honor in both the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army National Guard during the Vietnam conflict. After his military service, he dedicated his career as a millwright with Local Union #1421, where his hard work and commitment earned him the respect of colleagues and friends alike.
Outside of work, Vann lived life on his own terms—riding his Harley with passion and finding solace in the great outdoors while catfishing on Cedar Creek Lake. His zest for life, adventurous spirit, and genuine kindness left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him.
Vann is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Donna Roson of Vidor, TX; his sisters, Sharre Wolfe (and her husband Scott) of Grapevine, TX, and Gianna Lee Smith of Grapevine, TX; as well as his cherished grandson, Alexzander Payton Bailey of Vidor, TX. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ashley Dawn Miller.
Vann “Rambo” Roson will be remembered for his service, his adventurous spirit, and the love he shared with family and friends. Rest in peace.
