Vanessa Ann Sowell

Ann Sowell, 61, of Mauriceville died Thursday, December 29th, 2016 at Summer Place Nursing Home in Beaumont. A native of Jackson, MS, she was a longtime resident of Mauriceville, TX. Ann was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church and enjoyed helping people mainly though her cooking. She always gave more than she received. Ann was a hair dresser in Vidor for over 40 years and was the owner/operator of North Main St. Hair Salon. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Sunday, January 1, 2017 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Monday, January 2, 2017 at Pine Forest Baptist Church, with burial to follow at Sowell Cemetery in San Augustine, TX at 3:00 pm. Ann was preceded in death by her husband Ralph "Shorty" and father Ed Morgan. She is survived by her son Chris Sowell and wife Kristie of Mauriceville, TX, mother Carol Morgan of Mauriceville, TX, brother Dale Morgan and wife Ginny of Mauriceville, Texas, Donnie Morgan of Devils Pocket, Texas, sister Amy Morgan of Mauriceville, TX, 2 grandchildren Kolbie and Kyleigh Sowell, numerous nieces and nephews.
