Van V. Willey, 95, of Gist died Thursday, September 6, 2007 at Buna Medical Center in Buna, TX. A native of Orange, TX, he was a longtime resident of Gist. Van was a Dairy Farmer with Franklin Dairy Farms in Buna. He served his country during WW II in the U.S. Army and was a member of Genesis Baptist Church in Buna. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 12, 2007 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Eaves Cemetery in Gist. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at Memorial Funeral Home. Van is survived by his sons Joe and Fletcher Willey both of Buna, TX, daughters Margaret Luckey of Kirbyville, TX, Elsie O’Neal of Gist, TX, 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
