Thelda Jean Van Metre

Jean Van Metre, 75, of Vidor died Thursday, October 4, 2012 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Ponchatoula, LA., she has lived in Vidor for 42 years, and was a homemaker. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at 3:00 pm at Tanner Cemetery in Burkeville, TX. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm on Friday, October 5, 2012 at Memorial Funeral Home. Jean was preceded in death by her sister Jackie Kaspar. Jean is survived by her husband Jack Van Metre of Vidor, sons Dennis Van Metre of The Woodlands, TX., Derek Van Metre of Vidor, daughters Pamela Hawkins of Burkeville, Wendy Smith Rollings of Buna, Paula Nesbitt of Silsbee, and Wanda Felty of Norman, OK., brother Donald Wallace, Jr of Starks, LA., sister Carroll Perrin of Ponchatoula, twelve grandchildren: Lee Hawkins IV, Johnny Baker, Connie Kelly, Joshua Smith, Kellie Dunn, Rusty Eaves, Christopher Nesbit, Candie Thompson, Kerrie White, Kayla White, Morgan Van Metre, Dylan Van Metre, and numerous great grandchildren.
