Theda Louana Janise

Theda was born in August of 1935 in Vidor TX, where she graduated high school. She married Melvin Janise in 1952 and in 1955 they had a son Thomas. Theda later enrolled in Lamar University where she graduated with degrees in mathematics and education. She taught High School math for two years and then got a job with the Texas employment commission where she worked as a job placement specialist in Beaumont and Galveston. When Texas Workforce was formed, she was transferred to the Weslaco and Edinburg office in South Texas. Theda lived the valley area and enjoyed working with the people there, and eventually built a house in Falfurrias, where she retired. Theda loved gardening and raised the most beautiful grapefruit tree in the valley. We used to love harvesting the grapefruit and gave them out to everyone in the family. She moved to Collier Park in Beaumont about 8 years ago. She passed away in her sleep on January 4. 

Theda is survived by her son, Tom Janise and his wife Jennifer, two grandsons- Aaron and Brock Janise, one granddaughter – Lange Janise, and 4 great grandchildren.
