Sylvia Smith

Sylvia Smith, 75 of Vidor died Monday, May 14th, 2018 at her residence. Sylvia was a native and lifelong resident of Vidor. She was a homemaker and loved being with her family. She enjoyed painting, ceramics, traveling and was a great seamstress. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, May 20, 2018 at Love and Truth Church in Vidor. Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband Ray Smith, parents Travis and Florence Hemmenway, 4 brothers Phillip, Gus, Tyra "T.A.", and Frank Hemmenway. She is survived by her daughters June Fields and her husband Bruce, Lori Smith, Susan Hilyar and her husband Teddy all of Vidor, TX, sisters Trevelyn Sheppard of Bonners Ferry, ID, Louise Burleson Mauriceville, TX, Evelyn Vaughn of Vidor, TX and Louvisie Teems of Vidor, TX, 4 grandchildren Joshua Smith, Keli Jo Arceneaux, Carin Roy and Olivia Hilyar and 8 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
