Sandy Lynn York, 60, of Vidor, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, October 17th, 2024. A longtime resident of Vidor, Sandy was a member of Turning Point Church and had a gift for making people laugh and feel at ease. She loved entertaining others and had a natural ability to brighten any room she entered.
Sandy was an avid reader, often found with a book in her hands, and she had a deep love for the outdoors, especially cycling. As a devoted caregiver, she found joy in doing for others, always putting their needs above her own with a kind and giving heart.
She is survived by her father, Doug Winfrey, and stepmother, Jeanette Winfrey, her sisters, Sheila Ellard and husband Jeff of Baton Rouge, LA, Tammie Eastwood of Vidor, TX, and Nicole Galloway and husband Brock of Cibolo, TX. Sandy also leaves behind her beloved nieces and nephews: L'oreal Fultz, Douglas Sims, Chase Ellis, Chelsea Warner, Katherine Danton, Caroline O'Quinn, Tamela Eastwood, Cole Galloway, Gage Galloway, and Blakley Galloway, along with numerous great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Chaz York, her mother, Shirley McCauley, and her brother-in-law, Roy Eastwood Jr.
Sandy's love for life, laughter, and care for others will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
