Sandra Jean Cox, 77, of Vidor, Texas, went to be with her Lord and her beloved husband, Gilbert, on Friday, December 6, 2024, at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont. A longtime resident of Vidor, Sandra was a devoted homemaker, a faithful member of Rose City Baptist Church, and a woman of deep and abiding faith who loved the Lord with all her heart. Married to Gilbert Cox for 51 beautiful years, Sandra cherished her family above all else, treating each member as a precious gift. She was known for her kind and gentle nature, with not a mean bone in her body, loving everyone she met. An active member of her church, Sandra was a woman who embodied grace, humility, and devotion. She enjoyed John Wayne and Elvis Presley, finding joy in their classic films and music. She is survived by her children, Pamela Cox of Vidor, TX, Peggy Jackson and husband Thomas of Silsbee, TX, and Robin Root and husband Robert of Lumberton, TX; her sister Paula Netterville and husband Wilton of Vidor, TX; three grandchildren, Kevin Cox of Vidor, TX, Jessica Sims and husband Chad of China, TX, and Robert Root of Beaumont, TX; and five great-grandchildren, Kaiden, Payton, Carson, Madalyn, and Preston. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends who were blessed to know her love. Sandra was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Cox; her mother, Mary Jean Lozier; and her father, Junior Paul Lucas. Her family and friends will forever cherish the memories of her warmth, unwavering faith, and the unconditional love she shared so freely.
