Samantha "Sammy" Lee Townsend, 30, of Vidor, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2024, in Vidor. A lifetime resident of Vidor, Sam was a vibrant and dynamic member of the community, known for her many talents and passions. A proud member of Pine Forest Baptist Church, Sam's faith was a cornerstone of her life. She pursued a career in sports management and excelled in various martial arts, holding a black belt in Korean Tae Kwon Do, a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and a black belt in Shotokan Martial Arts. Additionally, Sam was a competitive shooter and skilled in primitive archery. An avid outdoorswoman, Sam enjoyed blacksmithing, primitive camping, and embracing the wilderness. She was a 2018 graduate of Lamar University with a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, a testament to her dedication and hard work. Despite her numerous accomplishments, Sam's greatest achievement was her beloved daughter, Maya Andrea Townsend, who brought immense joy and pride to her life. Sam is survived by her mother, Donna Wyatt and of Vidor, TX; her father, Alvin Lee Townsend of Vidor, TX; her daughter, Maya Andrea Townsend of Vidor, TX, and her stepdad Gregory Wyatt; her sister, Patricia Morales and husband Steven of Vidor, TX; her brothers, Ranson Gibson of Panama City Beach, TX, and Kameron Gibson of Vidor, TX; and her sister, Malorie Gibson of Beaumont, TX. She is also survived by her grandmother Lucy Townsend of Point Blank, TX, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will forever cherish her memory. Sam's adventurous spirit, dedication to her family, and multitude of talents will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
