Ruth Alleen Smith

Ruth A. Smith, 85, of Vidor died Friday, July 12, 2013 at Oakwood Manor Nursing Home in Vidor. A native of Ranger, TX., she was a longtime resident of Vidor and a retired care provider. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 15, 2013 at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 14, 2013 at Memorial Funeral Home. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents Roby Justin and Lena Collins Eakin, brothers R. J. Eakin and Howard Eakin, and her sister Valta Gaines. Ruth is survived by her brother Drew Eakin of Vidor, sisters Sue Adams of Oklahoma, City, OK., June Fleming, and Lois Harrell both of Port Arthur, numerous nieces and nephews.
