Rose Marie Bagesse Sampson

Rose Marie Bagesse Sampson, 82, passed from this life peacefully at her home with her family by her side on December 12, 2012. Rose was born in Port Arthur, Texas on July 23, 1930 to Carlo and Genevieve Bagesse. Rose devoted her life to God, her husband of 62 years Stanley Sampson, SR., her 4 children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Stanley Sampson, SR., her 4 children Stanley Sampson, JR., and his wife Karen, Joseph Sampson and his wife Theresa, Gina Fletcher and her husband Pat, and Monica Greene and her husband Randy, her 13 grandchildren: Brandon Sampson, Amy Smedra, Travis Hughes, Misty Roche, Michael Sampson, Jared Sampson, Daniel Fletcher, Carrie McDaniels, Justin Fletcher, Matthew Greene, Stephen Greene, Caleb Greene, and Shelby Greene, her 16 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Rose was preceded in passing by her parents Genevieve, Carlo Bagesse and Ladet Falgout, grandparent and the love of her life Joseph and Rosa Albanese, her sister Josephine Hooker, her 3 brothers Frank Bagesse, Joe Bagesse, and Carl Bagesse. Rose took great pleasure in serving her Lord at our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, where she taught the first Communion CCD Class for over 30 years. Serving on the Parish Council. Member of the Alter Society, member of the Red Hats, and many acts of Kindness for the Religious. Rose was from the great generation of women who put her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren as a top priority to teach, love, and nurture. She has many close friends, she felt were a part of her family that knew they were loved dearly. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Monday, December 17, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Vidor under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm and a Christian Vigil will begin at 7:00 pm on Sunday, December 16, 2012 at Memorial Funeral Home. Memorials can be made to the Humane Society.
