Ronald C. Thedford born June 13, 1944 in Lufkin, TX., and died Monday, April 4, 2011 after he lost his battle with cancer at his residence. He is preceded in death by his mother and step-father Myrtie and Bert Doiron, brothers Everett Thedford and Samuel A. Doiron, III, his son Ronald C. Thedford, Jr.. Ronald is survived by his wife Silvia Thedford of Vidor, sons Brad Thedford of Brownwood, TX., and Bryan Thedford of Vidor, daughter Loretta A. Thedford of IA., brother Allan Doiron of Nederland, and four grandchildren. He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He was decorated twice for valor, in 1968 while in Vietnam he received the bronze star with V distinct of valor, and a Army commendation with V distinct for valor. He had over 10 years in the Army and 2 and a half years of them in combat in Vietnam. Mr. Thedford has lived in Vidor for the last 17 years. He was a member of the DAV, VFW and American Legion. He loved his family and his country. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at Del Rose Cemetery in Vidor under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Home.
