Robert Tompkins Sr., 90 of Vidor died Saturday, June 26, 2004 with his family by his bedside. A native of Hope, Arkansas he lived in Muscle Shoals, Alabama for 34 years before moving to Vidor in 1956, and was a retired waterworks supervisor with the City of Beaumont after 30 years of faithful service. Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 29, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, June 28, 2004 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Robert is survived by his daughters, Stella Fredieu and her husband Horace of Vidor, and Patricia Baker and husband Don of Lumberton, sisters, Stella Perkins of Beaumont, Juanita Williford of Russelville, AL., and Billie Sue Lindsey of Muscle Shoals, AL., grandchildren, Deborah Roberts, Bubba Fredieu, Billy Fredieu, Wendy Fredieu, Diane Odom, Robert Langham, Thomas Langham, Tracie Young, and Cory Baker, seventeen great grandchildren, and nine great-great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Myrtle Tompkins, son, Robert Pride Tompkins, Jr., brother, Raymond Tompkins, and granddaughter, Peggy Baker.
