Robert Eugene Clayton Sr.

Robert E. Clayton Sr., 84 of Vidor died Thursday, October 5, 2017 at his residence. a native of Pascagoula, Mississippi, he was a longtime resident of Vidor, Texas. Robert was a member of Pecan Acres Baptist Church in Vidor and was a retired Iron Workers with Local Union #135. Robert served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, dancing and times spent with family and friends. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, October 8, 2017 at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Robert was preceded in death by his preceded in death by his wife of 53 years Joyce Ann Clayton and son Robert "Buster" Clayton Jr. He is survived by his daughter Debbie Stanley and husband Sammy of Vidor, TX, son Steve Clayton and wife Melody of VIdor, TX, daughter-in-law Lois Clayton of Vidor, TX, sister Nita Colley and husband A.T. of Woodville, TX, 19 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
