Robert "Bobby" Dewhurst, 51, of Vidor, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 29th, 2024, at his residence. Born and raised in Michigan, Robert eventually settled in Vidor in 2016 after relocating from Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
During his time in Vidor, Robert was known for his dedication as a Sales Associate at Home Depot Orange for four years. Outside of work, he found joy in strumming his guitar to classic rock 'n' roll tunes, as well as indulging in his passion for fishing. In his younger days, Robert enjoyed the thrill of hunting alongside his brothers.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor.
Robert is survived by his beloved wife, Carmen Bickham-Dewhurst of Vidor, Texas, and his children Marissa Marie Dewhurst 30 of Phoenix, Arizona, Brett Allen Dewhurst 26, and Bradley Allen Dewhurst 22, both of Grand Rapids, Michigan. He is also survived by his stepchildren Aubrey Charles Bickham Jr 23 and his wife Shania Bickham, Addison Grace Bickham 16, and Caden Joseph Bickham 19, sisters Sandra Robinson and husband Jack of Mauriceville, Texas, Shirley Brewer and husband Larry of Michigan, and Judy Shalhoup of Michigan, mother-in-law Mary Hoffpauir. Robert leaves behind several cherished grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Robert was preceded in death by 2 brothers Raymond Burns and Terry Burns, 3 sisters Lynn Vos, Connie Howland and Debra Burns, father Richard Emerson Dewhurst and mother Verna Mae Henning-Dewhurst.
