Robert 'Bob' 'Pee-Paw' Warren Alverson, Sr.

Bob Alverson, 83, of Vidor died Tuesday, October 26, 2010 after a lengthy battle with cancer. He died peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. He was a native of Bowling Green, OH, and was a longtime resident of Vidor. Bob was a member of First United Methodist Church in Vidor and was a former member of the Southeast Texas Regional Planning Commission. He served his country in the US Navy during WWII, he also served on the VISD School Board in the 1970\'s, was a Boy Scout Leader in the 1960\'s and was a past Mayor of Pine Forest. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 31, 2010 at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Cremation arrangements were entrusted to Memorial Funeral home of Vidor. Bob was preceded in death by his son Robert Warren Alverson, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Juanita Alverson, sons Michael Alverson of Vidor, TX, Christopher Alverson and his wife Janice of Angleton, TX, daughter Leigh Ann Gallier and her husband Lewis of Vidor, TX, sister Maxine Schudel of Columbus, GA, grandchildren Juanita, Christie, Amy, Aaron, Ethan, Lindsay, Warren, and Claire, 8 great-grandchildren and 2 on the way. He is also survived by numerous other family members and friends. \r\n
