Rita Gray Riley

Rita G. Riley, 87, of Vidor died Saturday, June 18, 2011 at her residence. A native of Beaumont, she lived in Vidor for 60+ years before moving to Shamrock Shores 32 years ago after her retirement and returned to Vidor in 2000. Per Rita's request, her body was donated to UTMB for science research. Rita retired from the Orange County Water Department in Vidor, and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Vidor. Memorial services will be held at 6:30 pm on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 5:30 pm on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at Memorial Funeral Home. Rita was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Jack W. Riley, sons Warren Riley and Jack H. Riley, parents Roy and Remola Gray, brothers Roy Gray, Jr., and T. C. Gray. She is survived by her son David Riley and wife Teresa, brother Pete Gray and wife Opal, brother and sister-in-law Jack and Kay Cockrell, and her daughter-in-law Patricia Riley all of Vidor, nine grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, one great-great grandson, and several nieces and nephews.
