Richard Wayne Brister

Richard W. Brister, 59 of Vidor died Saturday, August 21st, 2021 at MD Anderson Medical Center in Houston, TX. Richard was a native and lifelong resident of Vidor. He was boat captain for Ryan Marine in Galveston, TX. Richard enjoyed playing golf and spending time with grandchildren. He was an avid football fan, he liked the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Longhorns. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Friday, August 27, 2021 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Richard is survived by his wife of 18 years Dawn Cockerham of Vidor, TX, daughters Laura Godfrey and her husband Matt of Houston, TX, Sabrina Cockerham of Houston, TX, JoAnna Nicole Bradshaw of Vidor, TX, Lisa Bradshaw of Mauriceville, TX, Kimberly Roberts and her husband Kenneth of Vidor, TX, Lauren Hunt and her husband Michael of Vidor, TX, and Jimmie Safford of ND, son Kevin Bradshaw of Mauriceville, TX, father LC Brister Jr. and his wife Cherry of Vidor, TX, brothers Edward Brister and his husband Clif Rice of Houston, TX, sister Rhonda Powell and her husband Bo of Bedford, TX, brother-in-laws Larry Molenda of Woodville, TX, Kevin and Bobby Molenda both of Vidor, TX, grandchildren Tom, George, Jonathan, Sara, Meghan, Clayton, Katelyn, Bentley, Elizabeth, Emma and MaKayla, and great grandson Archie, his nephews Ryles, and Carter Powell , and neice Saren Smith .He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Hollingsworth, and recently by his grandmother Willie Meryl "Maw" Brister.
