Reverend R.N. Davis, Sr.

Reverend R.N. Davis, Sr. 90, of Trinity, TX died Thursday, May 14th, 2015 at his residence. He was a former resident of Vidor for 31 years and was the founder of The Church of God in Vidor. Brother Davis served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Pipefitters Local 195. As a pastor, "Brother Bob" taught everyone how to love even at times when it was difficult to love and all who knew him knew of his great faith with God. He was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather, a great provider and friend to all, and will be greatly missed. Brother Davis is survived by 3 daughters, Peggy Nicholds and Sandra Farris, both of Trinity, TX and Charlotte Hodges and husband Stephen of Beaumont, 2 sons, Robert Nolan Davis, Jr. and wife Cindy of Humble, TX and Timothy Davis and wife Kim of The Woodlands, TX, 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and a sister, Billie Watson of Texarkana, TX. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 61 years, Wilma B. Davis, a daughter, Julia Ann Davis, and son-in-law, Joe B. Farris, Jr. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at The Dwelling Place Church of God in Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park.
