Raleigh "Sarge" E. Crump

Raleigh E. Crump, 76, of Vidor died Saturday, October 12, 2014 at Dubuis Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Robeline, LA, he has been a resident of Vidor for 38 years following retirement from the military. He was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church in Vidor and was a Deacon. He was a 32 degree Mason and an endowered member of the Scottish Rite. He served his country in the US Army National Guard and the US Air Force. He retired from the US Air Force as a Senior Master Sargent after 20 years of service, he also retired from North Star Steel as an Electronic Technician in 1993. Raleigh was affectionately known as "Gramps" to his grandchildren Dusty, Cassandra, Travis, Nathan, Lydia, Gideon, Dominic, Lorraine, Lana, Linka and Able. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at Pine Forest Baptist Church in Vidor. A gathering for family and friends will begin at 6:00 pm Monday, October 13, 2014 at Pine Forest Baptist Church. Raleigh was preceded in death by his sister Mary Belle Guidry and grandson Caleb Crump. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Estelle Crump, daughter Anita Reece and her husband Larry, son Jody Crump and his wife Marilyn, sister Elaine Deloney all of Vidor, TX, 11 grandchildren and 3 great-granddaughters Chloe, Myla and Addison. Pallbearers will be Travis Reece, Tad Sands, Nathan Crump, Gideon Crump, Dominic Crump and Chris Shafer.
