Querida M. (JO) Childree, passed away on Monday, Sept 12, 2016. Visitation: Saturday, Sept 17, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Funeral services: Saturday Sept 17, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Memorial Funeral Home, Vidor, TX. Interment: 2:00 p.m. Mount Pisgah Cemetery, Woodville, TX.
We thank the Lord for our blessings, and our mother was a blessing to her husband, her children, grandchildren and friends. Our lives were enriched with her love, and the lives she touched were made better in knowing her. A loyal friend with an open heart, those of you who share this privilege know the breadth and depth of friendship. Her loyalty was not easily earned, but once you earned it, she was with you until the end. She never gave up; she put her entire being into the task at hand, whether it was in her work or raising a family. She shaped our lives and spent her life caring for others; never did she put herself before others. Mom loved her family beyond all measure, without bounds, her family was the focus of her spirit, but it rested on an almost boundless sea of compassion for others. She understood the journey was important. Mom found enjoyment in simple things, such as her pets, feeding the birds, garage sales, flea markets and visiting with friends. I remember mom as a compassionate and gentle soul. She is survived by her sons Kim, David, Kevin and daughter Querida.
