Pinkney Eugene Mitchell, 81, of Vidor died Thursday, June 22, 2006 at Dubuis Hospital in Port Arthur, TX. A native of Port Arthur, where he lived for 56 years before moving to Vidor 25 years ago, and retired after 39 years as a special equipment operator with Texaco in Port Arthur. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 25, 2006 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Antioch Cemetery in Buna, TX. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 24, 2006 at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. He was preceded in death by his parents James Hamilton and Emma Lenora Mitchell Sr., wife of 25 years Mary Mitchell, and brother James Hamilton Mitchell, Jr. He is survived by his sister Reba Swann of Longview, TX., niece Terry Turpin, nephews Butch Swann, and Rodney Swann, and several step-children.
