Phillip Dion Mcfarland Sr.

Phillip D. McFarland, 75 of Vidor died Saturday, March 7th, 2020 at his residence. A native of Deridder, La, he was a lifelong resident of Vidor. Phillip was one of the longest members of Rose City Baptist Church and worked with Davis Tree Experts for 30+ years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. Phillip had a small farm where he was raising cows, chickens and pigs. He was an outdoors man and liked wood working. Phillip served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam conflict. He was a honorary member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #8246 in Vidor for over 30+ years. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, March 11, 2020 at Memorial Funeral Home with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Phillip is survived by his wife of 52 years Carol McFarland, daughter Renee McFarland and her husband Malcolm Janise, sons Phillip Dion McFarland Jr. and his wife Tammy, Jake McFarland Sr.and his wife Mildred, Toby McFarland and his wife Tina all of Vidor, TX, 26 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
