Peter Obergon Cortez

Peter O. Cortez, 82 of Vidor died Sunday, May 30th, 2021 at Oakwood Manor Nursing Home in Vidor. A native of San Antonio, TX, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Peter was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Senior Club. He was a Lab Tech for Inland Orange. Peter loved to play cards, spend time with family and attending his grandchildren's activities. Visitation will begin at 12:00 pm and the funeral liturgy outside mass will be celebrated at 2:00 pm Thursday June, 3, 2021 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Peter is survived by his wife Mary Lou Cortez and sons, Richard Cortez of Beaumont, TX, Peter Cortez and wife Wendy of Temecula, CA, his sisters Mariana Rozas of Austin, TX, Carmen Gutierrez of Elgin, TX, Evangeline Mora of Phoenix, AZ, his grandchildren, Hayden Cortez and wife Brandi of Beaumont, TX, Paige and Husband Cory Gipson of Vidor, TX, Natalie Cortez of Vidor, TX, the mother of his grandchildren Melissa Cortez and numerous nieces and nephews.
