Paula Pryne

Paula Maude (Monroe) Pryne, 87, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 24, 2019. She was born June 25, 1932 in Shreveport, LA to Webb P. Monroe and Elinor (Mayo) Monroe. She was a long-time resident of Vidor, Texas and member of First Baptist Church of Vidor. She lived the last three years in Galloway, New Jersey. She married Ralph “Buck” Pryne on May 28, 1960. Paula became an AVON Sales Representative on September 7, 1967. She sold AVON for over 50 years and earned many achievements, including Lifetime President’s Club status. She could make a customer out of anyone and was known for her smile, outgoing personality, and ability to make friends everywhere she went. Her greatest happiness was found in her family. Her great-grandchildren or “her babies” as she fondly referred to them, were a constant source of joy. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Eva Beth Sloman. Also preceded by her loving husband, Buck, of 45 years. She is survived by two daughters, Vicki McMillian (Joe) of Galloway Township, NJ and Carol Fontenot (David) of Sulphur, LA; a brother- in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Mary Jo Pryne of Lumberton, Texas and three grandchildren, Christopher (Jacqueline) Fontenot of Lubbock TX, Aaron (Stephanie) McMillian of Wentzville, MO, and Lauren McMillian of Dallas, TX. She will be greatly missed by three great-grandchildren Ainsley, Landon, and Callen McMillian of Wentzville, MO. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at the Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor with grandson Aaron McMillian officiating. Visitation is 10 a.m. until time of service. Interment will be immediately following the service at Restlawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Vidor, TX (Building Restoration Projects) or Emmanuel Church of Egg Harbor City, NJ (Special Projects).
