Patsy Willis Smith Long, 81 of Gary, TX died Thursday, September 26th, 2019 at home surrounded by her family. A native of Beaumont she was a longtime resident of Vidor and was a member of the Eastern Star before moving to Gary 14 years ago. Patsy was very active in sports throughout her life. She played basketball in high school and played co-ed softball after graduating from Vidor High School and went on to bowl on a bowling league. Patsy was an avid fisherman and hunter, and was a devoted and loving wife, mom, granny, and great granny. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 2, 2019 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be Thursday, October 3, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Memorial Funeral Home with interment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Patsy is survived by her loving husband of 25 years; Lewis Long, 2 daughters; Cynthia Smith-McDaniel and her husband Byron of Burkeville, TX and Karen Kay Smith of Vidor, 1 son; Lewis Clayton Long, Jr and his wife Misty of Nederland, TX, 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers; D.B. Willis, Jr, Alfred Bo Willis and James Willis, 3 sisters; Mary Francis Willis, Dorothy Nell Clark and Adell Willis-Beard, and 1 grandson; Beau James Prichard.
