Oscar "Pops" Godeaux, 85 of Vidor died Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas in Beaumont. A native of Basile, Louisiana, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. Oscar was an owner/operator of Godeaux's Service Center in Beaumont and Godeaux's Feed Store Vinton, LA. He owned and trained racing horses and enjoyed fishing. Oscar served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Monday, February 26, 2018 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Turning Point Church in Vidor with burial to follow at Singleton Cemetery in Vidor. Oscar was preceded in death by his daughter Deana McMahon, parents Thomas and Doline Godeaux, brother Bill Godeaux, sisters Della Miller and Eula Mae Walker. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Carolyn Godeaux of Vidor, TX, son Roger Heiss of Ft. Smith, AR, daughters Jeannette Godeaux of Vidor, TX, Jackie Andrus and her husband Buddy of Vidor, TX, extended son James "Junior" Martin of Beaumont, TX, sister Bell Butler and her husband Frank of Lumberton, TX, grandchildren Ashley Loggins and her husband Cody, Chelce Smith, Darby Reed, McKenzie and Khloie Andrus 3 great grandchildren Bladen and Kinsley Loggins, Zane Smith all of Vidor, TX, former son-in-law Ronnie Reed of Vidor, TX, former grandson-in-law Will Smith of Vidor, TX.
