Oscar Gerald Basden Sr., 83, of Beach City, Texas died Wednesday, June 24th, 2020 in Baytown, Texas. A native of Beaumont, he was a longtime resident of Vidor. He served his country during the Korean War with the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany. Gerald retired from Mobil Oil in Indonesia as a supervisor after a long career in the oil industry in Beaumont and in countries abroad. Gerald retired from Enterprise Products after 20 plus years as a process operator. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends, family, grandchildren, and much-loved dog. Services will be held at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor beginning with a visitation starting at 6 PM Saturday, June 27th, 2020 with the funeral service Sunday, June 28th, 2020 at 2 PM. The graveside will occur after the service at Restlawn Memorial Park. Gerald is survived by his sons Oscar Gerald Basden Jr. and William Eric Basden, daughters Anna Lisa Anderson, Hollie Bejarano and Jacqueline Bell, sister Rebecca Elaine Mynard, and numerous grandchildren. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents Vollie Vernon Basden and Dura Basden, and brothers Vollie Dalton Basden and Glen Vernon Basden.
