Opal Schnitz-Hidalgo Herford , 70, of Vidor died Thursday, May 22, 2008 at her residence. A native of Dewville, TX., she has lived in Vidor for 5 years, and was a homemaker. She was a faithful member of Not In Darkness Baptist Church of Orange. Graveside services will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 25, 2008 at China Cemetery in China, Texas under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 24, 2008 at Memorial Funeral Home. She is survived by her husband of 3 years Beuford Herford of Vidor, sons Don Armentrout of China, Jim Armentrout of Buna, Avant Armentrout, and Tommy Hidalgo, Jr both of Vidor, and Richard Ray Radicke of New Braunsfels, TX., daughters Robbie Armentrout Martin of Port Acres, and Shane Hidalgo Wright of China, brothers Sonny Schnitz, Avant Schnitz, and John Paul Schnitz all of Vidor, sisters June Dybowski of Kenedy, TX., Jo West of Gonzales, TX., Mary Ann Salyer of Beaumont, and Jane Clark of Vidor, eighteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
