Morris John Vogel

Morris John Vogel, 67, of Vidor died Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas in Beaumont. A lifelong resident of Vidor, Morris graduated from Vidor High School in 1965, and from Texas A&M University in 1969 with a B S in Psychology and a minor degree in History. Morris worked for various construction companies, various law enforcement agencies, and taught school at Beaumont Independent School District for many years. Morris was a member of Tolerance Masonic Lodge #1165, and Vidor Masonic Lodge #1286. He was preceded in death by his father Jerome P. Vogel. Morris is survived by his mother Frances L. Vogel of Vidor, sister Miriam Vogel Hodges (Russell) of FL., brother Jerome Vogel (Brenda) of Beaumont, and a sister of the heart Anna Yvette Gonzales (Lolo) of Kountze. Morris also had three nieces: Donna Hodges Keel (Billy) and Deana Hodges Moorman (James) and one nephew Donny Hodges (Anna) all of FL., and niece Amber Baca (Elvin) of Beaumont, and four great nephews, and four great nieces, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins living in Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00p.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with entombment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, March 7, 2014 at Memorial Funeral Home.
