Monroe H. Oxley, Jr., 65, of Vidor died Saturday, July 19, 2014 at his residence. A native of Tokyo, Japan, Monroe was a longtime resident of Vidor and was a retired process operator with Mobil Oil Refinery in Beaumont. Monroe served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with burial to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Memorial Funeral Home. Monroe is survived by his wife Melanie Dell 'Smith' Oxley of Vidor, son Monroe Nathaniel Oxley and wife Jennifer of Georgetown, TX., daughters Christy Michele Rodriguez and husband David, Melanie Elizabeth Oxley-Price all of Humble, and Miranda Noel Raymo and husband Bill, III of Orange, sister Elizabeth Goertz of Vale, AZ., seven grandchildren: Logan Brading, Adrianna Rodriguez, Azula Raymo, Bill Raymo, IV., Happy Raymo, Harper Raymo, and Azaelia Oxley, and one great granddaughter Mara Perla.
