Mildred 'Granny' Neely

Granny Neely, 80, of Vidor died Monday, December 1, 2008 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Jasper, she has lived in Vidor since 1956, and was retired after 24 years as a cafeteria worker with VISD. She was a member of Christ Community Church in Vidor, and a 57 year member of the Eastern Star Chapter 914. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 5, 2008 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor, with Rev. Don Huckaby officiating, with entombment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park in Vidor. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 4, 2008 at Memorial Funeral Home. Granny is survived by her son James Buddy Dobbs and his wife Celina of Vidor, daughter Carolyn Cowart and her husband James of Vidor, eight grandchildren: Jimmy Cowart and his wife Alison , Rhonda Kitchen , Reggie Cowart and wife Dennise, Dolly Cowart, Julie Dobbs, Laurie Morton and her husband Karl, Josie Ryder, and Jamie Dobbs, and thirteen great grandchildren.
