Micheal Ray Simmons, Sr., 70, of Vidor, TX died Friday, March 15th, 2019 at Christus Dubuis Hospital in Beaumont, TX. He was a 1966 graduate of Vidor High School were he was first chair trumpet player for the band and also a baseball player for the school. In 1975 he coached Little League baseball for the Cubs which his son Micheal played on. Mike liked playing the guitar but he especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and loved his cat "Candy". Visitation will be Tuesday, March 19, 2019 beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home with interment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Mike is survived by his wife of 14 years; Cindy Simmons, 1 daughter; Valerie Kennedy and her husband Joshua of Conroe, TX, 3 sons; Micheal Ray Simmons, Jr. of Vidor, Kelly Simmons and his wife Debbie of Beaumont, and J.R. Prichard of Vidor, 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He is also survived by 2 sisters; Shelia Styers of Clearfield, PA and Mona Mack of Austin, TX, 1 brother; Pat Simmons and his wife Vanessa of Vidor along with numerous nieces and nephews. Mike was preceded in death by his parents; Ira Ray and Willie Mae Simmons.
