Michael Edward Rider

Michael Edward Rider, 54, of Vidor, passed away on Friday, January 24th, 2025.

A longtime resident of Vidor, Michael dedicated 27 years of his life as a truck driver, navigating the open roads with pride and hard work. He was a passionate gun collector and an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, cheering for his team with unwavering loyalty. Above all, Michael cherished his time with his grandchildren, finding his greatest joy in their laughter and love.

Michael was preceded in death by his father Eddie Lee Rider.

Michael is survived by his devoted wife of 24 years, Cheryl Rider of Vidor, TX, and his children: Brittany Goodwin and husband James of Vidor, TX; Kali Baucum of Vidor, TX; Shelby Forister and husband Taylor of Vidor, TX; Victoria Speers and husband Stephen of Lumberton, TX; and Michael "Mikey" Rider of Daisetta, TX.

He also leaves behind his mother Linda Clow of Daisetta, TX, brother, Brad Rider and wife Kathy of Ingram, TX, and his stepsister, Lisa Clow of Daisetta, TX. Michael was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren: Logan Goodwin, Tyler Harvey, Kinley Goodwin, Railey Adams, Phoebie Harvey, Cason Speers, Owen Glanville, Ryan Adams, and Lucas Speers.

Michael will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his dedication to family, and his enthusiasm for life’s simple joys.
