Melvin "Melbo" Cade, 76, of Vidor, passed away on Tuesday, December 19th, 2023, at The VA Medical Center in Houston. A devoted and longtime resident of Vidor, Melbo's life was marked by service, love, and a deep connection to his community.
Melbo proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam conflict. His bravery and sacrifice were honored with a Purple Heart, a testament to his dedication to his fellow soldiers and his nation.
A lover of the outdoors, Melbo found solace in the quiet beauty of nature. Hunting and fishing were not just pastimes for him but a way to connect with the world around him. One of his favorite activities was sitting by the campfire, where stories were shared, and memories were made.

Melbo's legacy continues through his 7 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson.
