MELVILLE CRILE, 79, of Vidor died Friday, January 17, 2003 at his residence in Vidor. A native of Cleveland, Oklahoma he has lived in Vidor for 69 years. He is a Vidor High School class of 1941 graduate, and was a avid Vidor Pirate Fan for over 40 years, and was also involved in the Vidor Little League Baseball Program, and a faithful member of First United Methodist Church in Vidor, TX. He retired in 1986 from Gulf Oil Refinery as a machinist after 40 years of service. He served his country in the Army Air Corp during WWII while being stationed in the Philipines. Graveside services will be held on Monday, January 20, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Magnolia Cemetery in Beaumont, TX. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 19, 2003 at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Jewel Due Crile of Vidor, TX., son: Larry Crile of Vidor, TX., Daughters: Sandra “Crile” Hinote of Cypress, TX., Linda Gail “Crile” Hayes, and Deborah Ann “Crile” Cropper both of Vidor, TX. Brothers: Ival O. Crile of Angie LA., Charles W. Crile, Jr., of New Castle, DE., Sisters: Charlene Allen Wright of Sour Lake, TX., and Jan Love of Buda, TX. Nine Grandchildren, and Five Great Grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Richard E. Hinote, Jr., Joseph E. Cropper III, Gregory E. Hayes, Christopher R. Crile, Clinton Crile, and Curt A. Crile. In lieu of Flowers donations may be made to The Katie Pittman Christian Activity Center @ First United Methodist Church of Vidor, 501 N. Main St., Vidor, TX. 77662.
