Melva Peveto

Melva Peveto,79, of Vidor, TX died January 2, 2019 at her home. A native of Arcadia, LA she was a longtime resident of Vidor. Melva worked at Shiloh Baptist Church as the church secretary and enjoyed working with children at the Shriner's Hospital as a nurses aid in Shreveport, LA. Her hobbies were collecting dolls and reading. Melva also enjoyed cooking and baking. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 8, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor with funeral services beginning at 2:00 p.m.. Interment will be held on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Alabama Baptist Church cemetery in Arcadia, LA. Melva is survived by her husband Glenn Peveto of 54 years, 2 sons; Terry Peveto and his wife Jennifer of Beaumont, TX and Rickey Peveto of Orange, TX, 3 grandchildren; Cody Peveto, Courtney Trahan and Taylor Peveto, 2 great grandchildren; Athena Trahan and Jerri Jillene Chandler, and 1 sister; Helen Rayburn. She was preceded in death by 1 daughter; Gwendolyn Peveto and 1 sister; Catherine Wilkerson.
