Megan Leigh Cryer

Megan Leigh Cryer, age 62, of Vidor, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. A lifelong resident of Vidor, Megan was known for her warm smile and her dedication to her family and community. She worked at Subway for over 20 years, where her friendly demeanor and strong work ethic left a lasting impression on coworkers and customers alike.

Megan found her greatest joy in spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Her loving and nurturing spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her son, James Nicholas Cryer and wife Erika of Vidor, Texas; her daughter, Leigha Michelle Bortz and husband Vince of Vidor, Texas; her brother, Todd Rainwater and wife Kay of Blanchard, Oklahoma; and her six grandsons: Wesley, Brenen, Drayden, Thomas, Bronson, and Manning. Megan is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and three nephews who will cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, James Thomas Cryer Jr., and her parents, Danna Faye Kirkland and Lonnie Rainwater Jr.

Megan’s legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to family will continue to live on through the many lives she touched.
