Mattie Louise Hearnsberger

Mattie Louise Hearnsberger, 82, of Vidor, passed away on Monday, December 30th, 2024, at Oak Grove Nursing Home in Groves, Texas. A longtime resident of Vidor, Mattie was a dedicated and cherished member of the community. A devoted member of Vidor Methodist Church, Mattie's faith was her guiding light. She was an active participant in church life and a source of encouragement and kindness to those around her. Mattie retired from the Orange County Sheriff's Department after years of dedicated service and previously worked for many years with the Hardin County Sheriff's Department. Her work reflected her strong commitment to justice and helping others. An avid traveler, Mattie embraced life's adventures, often finding joy in exploring new places and creating memories with her traveling partner Carter Davis who passed earlier this year. She is survived by her sister, Ruby Cranford of Groves, TX, as well as her beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends who will cherish her memory. Mattie was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Hearnsberger, and her daughters, Sanda Meaux and Susan Daily. Mattie's life was marked by her dedication to her family, faith, and service to others. She will be fondly remembered for her kind spirit and the love she shared with everyone who knew her.
