Mary Helen Yellott, 68, of Vidor, Texas, passed away on Friday, November 8th, 2024, at Houston Methodist Hospital. A devoted 44-year resident of Vidor, Mary Helen was known for her warmth, dedication, and unwavering love for her family and faith.
Mary Helen co-owned and served as secretary for Yellott Roofing alongside her beloved husband, Alan. Her life was marked by her deep love for music, a passion she shared widely, finding joy in everything from classic hymns to contemporary tunes. This love for music also extended into her work with children’s ministries, where she spent countless hours nurturing young minds and inspiring joy and faith in the next generation.
Mary Helen is survived by her husband of 48 years, Alan Yellott Sr. of Vidor, TX; her children, Connie Jo Varela-Fontenot and husband Michael of Kountze, TX, and Alan G. Yellott Jr. and wife Belinda of Vidor, TX. She also leaves behind two sisters, Ophelia Fountain of Las Vegas, NV, and Carmen Carrillo of Houston, TX, and one cherished grandson, Jaxon Ammon Yellott of Vidor, TX, who brought a special light to her life.
Mary Helen was preceded in death by her son Gregorio Varela Jr., parents and four brothers and four sisters. Her memory lives on in her family and friends who were blessed by her kindness, laughter, and her dedication to those she loved.
