Mary Lou French Jennings went home to be with her Lord on May 11, 2019 at her home at 1560 Ricky St. Vidor Texas. She was a great granddaughter of John Jay French, Sr. of Beaumont, Texas. She was married to her childhood sweetheart Jim Jennings on August 20, 1960. They lived in SE Texas most of their lives. She is preceded in death by her father Henry Grafton French & mother Louella French of Kountze, Texas. Also, 2 brothers John Henry French & Willard Ray French of Kountze. She was a Sunday School teacher for most of her adult life. She taught many children about God and His Love for us and the importance of a Christian Life. There are many testimonies of the result she had in leading them to Christ. She was truly a virtuous woman as described in the Holy Bible. She was a great wife & mother for these past 59 years. She always stood by her man and encouraged him in his endeavors. She was also a loving supporter of her 2 children. She was a faithful member of Grace Baptist Church of Vidor. There are many testimonies of adults today that tell the story of Miss Mary Lou. A lot of smiling faces when talking about her and also many tears have been shed by her passing. She also was good at playing basketball with her grand kids. Around Valentines Day this year she played a game of HORSE with her great grand kids. She was always ready to do whatever they wanted her to do. Again, a really great woman. Surviving are her husband James C. Jennings Sr. of 59 years. Daughter Sherry L. Peddy and husband Toby. Son James C Jennings, Jr. and wife Charlotte. Sister Edna House of Lumberton. Grand children Josh & Kamie Peddy, Theron & Stephanie Peddy, Amanda & Mike Timpson, Garret & Kayla Jennings, Mitchell Jennings, Juliann Jennings, Melissa & Chris Kelly, Jennifer Adams. Great Grand children Conner, Payton, Blair, Kaplan, Parker, Isaiah and Ida Mae. Also, surviving are Vicki Jennings, Dan & Darlene Jennings, Beverly & Selman Parker, Sharon & Richard Parker, Sue Jennings, Jan & Glenn Smith and a host of nieces & nephews. And many more that called her Granny. She loved them all. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm Friday, May 17, 2019 at Memorial Funeral Home of Vidor. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Memorial Funeral Home with burial to follow at Del-Rose Cemetery in Vidor.
